About Me

I am a South African who has been living in Accra, Ghana with my wonderful husband and two young children for the last three and a half years. We came here for my husband’s work and have fallen hard for this delightful West African country full of colour, vibrancy and heart!

I have always enjoyed taking photos and here in Ghana I’m forever seeing clusters of colours, and noticing the extraordinary in the ordinary. As I also have a great love for words, I have created this blog where I combine these two things I am passionate about, to tell the stories of our marvellous adventures so far as expats living in Accra, Ghana.

I have been fortunate in the time we have lived here to travel around parts of Ghana, to attend some very interesting local Ghanaian festivals and to see a lot of Accra through walking tours and exploring places off the beaten track. I am writing the blog that I wished I had found before living here so that I had a sense of what life here was all about, and what was on offer to do and see in Ghana.

Maybe you are here because you are interested and curious about what life is like as expats in Accra or perhaps you are coming to Ghana for a holiday or to live here, and are looking for suggestions on things to do and places to see in Ghana. Either way I hope you find my blog useful and enjoyable! Thank you for reading our stories.
