When living in the city of Accra there are times when you long to get away from busy city life and experience Ghana’s lush green tropical landscape or to wake up to the peaceful sounds of the Atlantic Ocean. In these posts I’ve written about some of our favourite places to spend holidays in Ghana where the views are beautiful and the sea is always warm.
I’ve reflected on our experience breathing in the fresh air and admiring endless views of the Savannah plains while glamping at the Shai Hills. I’ve also written about exploring Kokrobite beach while feasting on delectable Italian at Kokrobite Gardens. Both of these places are not far from Accra and shouldn’t take too long to reach if you time the trip right and avoid peak traffic.
I still have a few articles to write in this section about our holidays in Ghana at Ko Sa Beach resort, Meet Me There African Lodge, Ankobra Beach Resort. Escape Three Points. As well as visiting Wli Falls, the highest falls in West Africa and beautiful Tagbo Falls, where we have had wonderful breaks switching off and recharging our batteries.

Kokrobite Gardens – a soothing balm for the senses
I spontaneously enquire about Kokrobite Garden’s accommodation a few days before the weekend, hopeful that in these strange Corona times there will still be space. Our weekend plans are cemented when I get warm sounding voice notes from Caye, who owns Kokrobite Gardens with her husband Franko. She tells me in her beautiful Spanish soft-spoken…
Ko-Sa beach resort – our ‘beach home’ in Ghana!
Ko-Sa beach resort was the first resort our family visited when we moved to Accra 4 years ago and, after happily returning to it several times, we now consider it our Ghana ‘beach home’. Not far from Cape Coast, Elmina and Kakum National Park it is a central place to stay if you want to…
